1. About the service
Rahatakaisin is a cashback service that pays you money back when you shop with our partner stores through links on rahatakaisin.fi. The service is free of charge. Your contracting party is Monsen AS (Norwegian company registration number 931 063 499), Inger Bang Lunds vei 5, 5059 Bergen, Norway.
2. Registration
Use of the service requires an account. You must be at least 18 years old. You log in with an email address or with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure, as well as for what happens on your account.
3. How cashback works
- Cashback accrues when you go through a partner store link on Rahatakaisin to the store and make a purchase that the store confirms.
- The cashback rate varies between partner stores and may change without prior notice. The rate shown at the moment you go through to the store is the rate that applies to the purchase.
- Confirmation of a purchase can take the store as long as 90 days.
- Returns, cancelled orders and purchases that you cancel do not accrue cashback. If you exercise your right of withdrawal towards the store, the cashback linked to that purchase lapses.
- Cashback is calculated from Rahatakaisin's share of the commission paid by the partner store, and is shown in euros (EUR).
4. Withdrawal of cashback
You may withdraw accrued and confirmed cashback once your balance is at least 10 €. The payout is made through a Revolut payment link that you open and complete yourself: we therefore never ask for your account number. The link is sent to the email address connected to your account.
5. Limitations
- Ad blockers and the blocking of cookies may prevent tracking, in which case no cashback is registered.
- Cashback cannot be guaranteed: it depends on whether the partner store confirms the purchase.
- Misuse of the service (fabricated purchases, accounts in another person's name) leads to closure of the account and cancellation of cashback that has not yet been paid out.
6. Limitation of liability
Rahatakaisin provides the connection between you and the stores. We do not sell anything ourselves, and we are not responsible for products, deliveries, complaints or disputes that arise with the stores: in a purchase, your contracting party is the store. Cashback amounts shown before a purchase is confirmed are estimates, and they may differ from the final payout.
7. Changes
We may change these terms by giving 30 days' notice by email or in the service. If you continue using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, you may close your account free of charge.
8. Rahatakaisin for businesses
Rahatakaisin for businesses, that is the subscription aimed at stores and service providers, is not yet available in Finland. Sections 1 to 7 above therefore concern the consumer service. If you wish to work together with us as a store, that happens through the affiliate networks, see for partners. When the business subscription launches in Finland, it will be governed by separate terms that you accept upon registration.
9. Right of withdrawal and complaints
Rahatakaisin is free of charge for you as a consumer: you buy nothing from us, and you therefore have nothing to withdraw from towards us. The right of withdrawal concerns the purchase that you make in the store: under the Consumer Protection Act (kuluttajansuojalaki) you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal in distance selling, counted from receipt of the goods. You exercise the right of withdrawal towards the store, not towards us. If a purchase is cancelled or goods are returned, the cashback accrued on that purchase lapses.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your case, please contact us first at tuki@rahatakaisin.fi. If we cannot reach an agreement, you may seek advice from the consumer advisory service of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (kkv.fi) and bring the matter before the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi), which settles consumer disputes free of charge. Because we are established in Norway, you may also get help from the European Consumer Centre (ecc.fi), which advises on cross-border purchases in the EU and the EEA.
10. Governing law and dispute resolution
The agreement is entered into with Monsen AS in Norway. Finnish law applies in so far as mandatory Finnish consumer protection legislation requires it; otherwise Norwegian law applies. As a consumer resident in Finland, you never lose the protection that follows from mandatory Finnish provisions. You may always bring proceedings against us before the district court of your place of residence in Finland or, should you prefer, before Bergen District Court (Bergen tingrett), and we may bring proceedings against you only before a Finnish court. In disputes that do not concern a consumer, the competent court is Bergen tingrett.
